Women and work The Economist calls it a silent revolution. In the first number they write in an editorial that the women in a short period of time will constitute the majority of the workforce in the United States. And that this is the trend throughout the rich world: “At a time when the world is short of causes for celebration, here is a candidate: within the next few months women will cross the 50% threshold and become the majority of the American workforce.
